Overview
BuildQuote (BuildQuote) helps contractors create and send job proposals. This page describes how we handle personal information and text messages sent through www.usebuildquote.com.

Information we collect
- Contractor accounts: phone number (for sign-in), business profile, and proposal content you create in the app.
- Customer details: name, address, phone, and email you enter for proposals — stored so you can send and manage quotes.
- Usage: basic technical data (device, browser, errors) to operate and improve the service.
SMS & text messaging
If you opt in to receive text messages from BuildQuote, message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Who receives texts
- Contractors (app users): one-time verification codes when you sign in with your mobile number on the login page.
- Homeowners / customers: only when a contractor sends a proposal or enables follow-up reminders to a phone number the contractor provided for that job — not from purchased lists or cold outreach.
How you opt in
- Contractor login: you enter your mobile number and tap Continue to request a one-time code. That action is your consent to receive that verification SMS.
- Customer quote messages: the contractor initiates the message to a customer who has given their number for that project (e.g. in person or on an estimate form).

Opt out & help
- Reply STOP to unsubscribe from non-essential messages on that number.
- Reply HELP for assistance or email support@usebuildquote.com.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not sell your phone number or SMS consent to third parties for their marketing.
How we use data
We use your information to run the app (authentication, proposals, payments features), communicate with you about your account, and improve the product. We use service providers (e.g. hosting, database, SMS) under contracts that limit their use of your data.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with providers that help us operate BuildQuote, when required by law, or with your direction (e.g. showing a proposal to your customer).
Security & retention
We use industry-standard safeguards for data in transit and at rest. We keep information while your account is active and as needed for legal and business purposes.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion of account data by contacting support@usebuildquote.com. California residents may have additional rights under applicable law.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after updates means you accept the revised policy.
